The display features a life-size sculpture of Bono’s ‘MacPhisto’ character and even a pack of U2 condoms.

HEADING TO SEE U2 at Croke Park next weekend? If you want to get yourself in the mood for the gig, a quick visit to the ‘U2 room’ at the Little Museum of Dublin may be in order.

Curators trawled the city – and further afield – for artefacts connected to the band. In addition to late-70s era photos of an incredibly earnest-looking four-piece taking their first tentative steps in the music business, you’ll also find an Achtung Baby-style Trabant (at least, half of one) and a life-size model of Bono’s 1990s ‘MacPhisto’ character.

As the Little Museum’s Simon O’Connor told us, two of the band have even visited the dedicated room – but somehow managed to evade being noticed by the staff on duty at the time.
